Gabriel Muñoz-Morris, P.E.
Gabriel is the Senior Engineer for the City of Grover Beach Public Works Department. Gabriel was raised in Atascadero where he lived until he went to college. He graduated from UC Irvine with his BS in Civil Engineering in 2014. He also graduated from CSULB with his MPA in 2021. Gabriel has experience in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of public infrastructure. At the City, Gabriel works on a variety of projects including parks, streets, water, wastewater, stormwater, and facilities. Gabriel lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife and two dogs. He loves soccer, hiking, surfing, spending time with his family, staying active, and traveling.
Wyatt Banker-Hix, P.E.
Wyatt is a San Luis Obispo native who graduated from Cal Poly with his Bachelor's and Master's in 2014. He now works at the City of San Luis Obispo as a transportation engineer. Wyatt has experience in a variety of civil and structural projects but now focuses on local transportation design. Wyatt has also taught the concrete materials class at Cal Poly as a graduate student and re-connected with ASCE through his former students. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, being outdoors , and working endlessly on his Paso Robles home.
Samuel Petersen, E.I.T.
Samuel is an Assistant Engineering Designer at Rick Engineering in San Luis Obispo. Sam grew up in Arroyo Grande, and was introduced to hydraulics, water treatment, and civil engineering in high school. After graduating high school, he moved to Provo, Utah and attended Brigham Young University. He graduated from BYU in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Since graduating college, Sam moved back to the central coast and started working at Rick. In his free time, Sam enjoys spending time with his baby girl and wife, hiking, and playing racquet sports.
Samuel Venable, P.E.
Sam is a Staff Engineer for Earth Systems Pacific. Sam was raised in Ventura but grew attached to the Central Coast while attending Cal Poly for his master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to attending Cal Poly, Sam earned his bachelor’s degree at UC Santa Barbara in Earth Science. For Earth Systems, Sam can generally be found in the field working on the drill rig or performing construction inspections. Outside of work, Sam enjoys surfing, running, backpacking, and reading.
Ethan Pence, P.E.
Ethan is a Civil Engineer with Wallace Group in San Luis Obispo. Ethan was born and raised in Eagle, Colorado where he lived until he left for college at Cal Poly SLO. He graduated from with his BS in Civil Engineering in 2020. Ethan primarily focuses on the design of various transportation projects along the Central Coast including roundabouts, bike paths, parks and street improvements. Alongside his work at Wallace Group, Ethan has assisted with CAD file development for Cal Poly’s Civil Engineering Senior Design course the last few years. Ethan lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife and dog, and spends his free time running ultramarathons, biking, camping, and spending time with family.
Kevin Williams, P.E.
Kevin is a Roadway Project Engineer for Consor in the San Luis Obispo office. He is originally from Sacramento, CA and graduated from Cal Poly in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Kevin primarily works on transportation infrastructure projects with experience in roundabout, bridge, and interchange layout as well as general roadway geometric design throughout California. In his free time, Kevin enjoys being outside, watching sports, playing board games, and traveling!
George Celentano, E.I.T.
George began working as an Engineer I for the City of San Luis Obispo’s Community Development Department this past June. He grew up in Malvern, Pennsylvania, a small town outside of Philadelphia. After graduating high school in 2018, he attended Cal Poly where he received a degree in BioResource and Agricultural Engineering. At the City, George reviews building plans for stormwater and grading compliance, assists with the stormwater program, and assists with the National Flood Insurance Program. He lives in San Luis Obispo and enjoys running and surfing.
Morgan is an Engineer I at the City of San Luis Obispo's Public Works Department. Morgan studied Environmental Engineering and Leadership Development at San Diego State University and graduated May of 2023. Morgan was raised in Arroyo Grande and was excited to come back after college. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her niece and nephew, wake surfing, and traveling to new places.
Jamie Ross, P.E.
Jamie is a Project Engineer at Yeh and Associates, Inc., in Grover Beach. She is a Central Coast native and graduated from Cal Poly in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and in 2017 with a Master's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Geotechnical Specialization). Jamie has experience in the geotechnical analysis and design for various projects for local, state, and federal agencies including bridge foundation design, slope stability and landslide mitigation, and retaining wall design. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys camping, reading, hiking/trail running, painting, surfing, baking, mountain biking, and playing musical instruments.
Social Media Coordinator
Sydney is a project manager at Earth Systems Pacific, where she oversees materials testing and inspection on construction projects. Sydney studied Earth Science and Political Science at UC San Diego before returning home to the Central Coast to begin her career in the construction/civil engineering field. In her free time, she enjoys nerding out on hot mix asphalt and construction equipment, training Brazilian jiu jitsu, and snuggling with her dog, Mayfeld.
Aileen is a staff engineer at Earth Systems Pacific in San Luis Obispo. Aileen was born and raised near Chico, California where she lived until moving to San Luis Obispo in 2017. She graduated from Cal Poly SLO with her B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2021 and started her career on the central coast shortly after. Aileen spends her time with Earth Systems either in the office performing geotechnical analysis or in the field, logging borings on the drill rig or performing construction inspections. After work, Aileen can be found at the climbing gym, somewhere on a bike, on a hike, or at home with her cat, Luna, and a good book.
