2025 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships!

What: Join YMF in cheering on the students in the 2025 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships hosted by the Cal Poly ASCE student chapter! Next summer, over 500 students from 50+ universities across the world will be competing in Concrete Canoe, Sustainable Solutions, Surveying, and for the first time ever Timber-Strong Design Build. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their engineering skills, network with industry, and gain practical experience.

Featured MemberSamuel VenableSam is a Staff Engineer for Earth Systems Pacific. Sam was raised in Ventura but grew attached to the Central Coast while attending Cal Poly for his master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to attending Cal Poly, Sam earned his bachelor’s degree at UC Santa Barbara in Earth Science. For Earth Systems, Sam can generally be found in the field working on the drill rig or performing construction inspections. Outside of work, Sam enjoys surfing, running, backpacking, and reading.
