Samuel is an Assistant Engineering Designer at Rick Engineering in San Luis Obispo. Sam grew up in Arroyo Grande, and was introduced to hydraulics, water treatment, and civil engineering in high school. After graduating high school, he moved to Provo, Utah and attended Brigham Young University. He graduated from BYU in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Since graduating college, Sam moved back to the central coast and started working at Rick. In his free time, Sam enjoys spending time with his baby girl and wife, hiking, and playing racquet sports. |
Gabriel Muñoz-Morris, P.E.
Past President
Gabriel is the Supervising Civil Engineer for the City of San Luis Obispo Community Development Department. Gabriel was raised in Atascadero where he lived until he went to college. He graduated from UC Irvine with his BS in Civil Engineering in 2014. He also graduated from CSULB with his MPA in 2021. Gabriel has experience in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of public infrastructure. At the City, Gabriel works on a variety of projects including parks, streets, water, wastewater, stormwater, and facilities. Gabriel lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife and two dogs and new baby! He loves soccer, hiking, surfing, spending time with his family, staying active, and traveling. |
Morgan Edmunson, E.I.T.
President-Elect

Morgan is an Engineer I at the City of San Luis Obispo's Public Works Department. Morgan studied Environmental Engineering and Leadership Development at San Diego State University and graduated May of 2023. Morgan was raised in Arroyo Grande and was excited to come back after college. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her niece and nephew, wake surfing, and traveling to new places.

Sam is a Staff Engineer for Earth Systems Pacific. Sam was raised in Ventura but grew attached to the Central Coast while attending Cal Poly for his master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to attending Cal Poly, Sam earned his bachelor’s degree at UC Santa Barbara in Earth Science. For Earth Systems, Sam can generally be found in the field working on the drill rig or performing construction inspections. Outside of work, Sam enjoys surfing, running, backpacking, and reading. |
Ethan Pence, P.E.
Treasurer
Ethan is a Civil Engineer with Wallace Group in San Luis Obispo. Ethan was born and raised in Eagle, Colorado where he lived until he left for college at Cal Poly SLO. He graduated from with his BS in Civil Engineering in 2020. Ethan primarily focuses on the design of various transportation projects along the Central Coast including roundabouts, bike paths, parks and street improvements. Alongside his work at Wallace Group, Ethan has assisted with CAD file development for Cal Poly’s Civil Engineering Senior Design course the last few years. Ethan lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife and dog, and spends his free time running ultramarathons, biking, camping, and spending time with family. |

Historian
George has been working for Caltrans since November 2024 and was previously and Engineer 1 for the City of SLO's Community Development Department. He grew up in Malvern, Pennsylvania, a small town outside of Philadelphia. After graduating high school in 2018, he attended Cal Poly where he received a degree in BioResource and Agricultural Engineering. At the city, George reviewed building plans for stormwater and grading compliance, and assisted with the stormwater and National Flood Insurance Program. He lives in San Luis Obispo and enjoys running and surfing. |
Nathan Garcia Nava
Events Coordinator

Nathan is an Engineer II at the City of San Luis Obispo’s Public Works Capital Improvement Department. Nathan was born in Orange County before leaving to complete his BS in Civil Engineering with a minor in construction management at New York University. After graduating in 2020, he moved to the central coast where he began his engineering career with the City of San Luis Obispo. In his spare time, Nathan can be found hiking the various trails in SLO, attending a drag trivia night, or camping.
Hepzi Dadala, E.I.T.
Webmaster
Hephzibah (Hepzi) is an Engineer for the City of San Luis Obispo in the Community Development Department. She grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 2023 with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. Hepzi has internship experience in traffic design and analysis, wastewater construction, and roadway construction management and design. After graduating, she moved back to the Bay Area to work as a field engineer for a general contractor on Stanford's campus - which was a lot of fun - but Hepzi missed being by the beautiful beaches and rolling hills of SLO. She recently moved back to the Central Coast after a year and a half of being away and in her spare time, you can find her painting, being in nature, playing the piano and spending time with loved ones. Hepzi is a third generation civil engineer and she followed in the footsteps of her mom who is an accomplished, licensed civil engineer focusing in highway design, and her late grandfather who taught and practiced in India. |
Sydney Johnson
Social Media Coordinator
Sydney is a project manager at Earth Systems Pacific, where she oversees materials testing and inspection on construction projects. Sydney studied Earth Science and Political Science at UC San Diego before returning home to the Central Coast to begin her career in the construction/civil engineering field. In her free time, she enjoys nerding out on hot mix asphalt and construction equipment, training Brazilian jiu jitsu, and snuggling with her dog, Mayfeld. |
Aileen Flynn
Member-at-Large
Aileen is a staff engineer at Earth Systems Pacific in San Luis Obispo. Aileen was born and raised near Chico, California where she lived until moving to San Luis Obispo in 2017. She graduated from Cal Poly SLO with her B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2021 and started her career on the central coast shortly after. Aileen spends her time with Earth Systems either in the office performing geotechnical analysis or in the field, logging borings on the drill rig or performing construction inspections. After work, Aileen can be found at the climbing gym, somewhere on a bike, on a hike, or at home with her cat, Luna, and a good book. |
